Default RE: quick question

Relays can go bad and need replacing just like fuses, just not as often.

Default RE: quick question

so they would suddenly go out like from too much amperage? reason i'm asking is because my e-fan quit working today and all the wires and connections are good. so besides the fan motor itself being broke i don't know what else it could be?

Default RE: quick question

relays are set with a maximum voltage and current that can run through them. Too much and they can blow, or they can go bad from age.

Default RE: quick question

Releys develop "pits" over time from making and breaking contact. Eventually that pitting leads to not making good contact and it needs replaced. Hopefully thats your problem because I would imagine the relay is cheaper than the fan motor.
