Default Acceleration problems got ideas?

Ok I recently purchased an 05 mustang GT and i don't know if it's just the GT model but I drove my friends V6 and it accelerated smoothly. However on my GT you push on the gas pedel and you keep pushing and then i leaps to life. The best way to describe it, is it skips straight from 0 RPMs to around 3,000 Rpms at least thats how it feels. Does anyone have the same problem or any ideas on a way to make the acceleration smoother? Any advice would be helpful thank you.

I dont know if this additional information will help but it idles at just under 500 RPMs. And a friend of mine said it could be the Drive by Electronics. I don't know if there's any support behind that, but again advice will be helpful for a newbie like myself.

i think its because its a fly by wire. (electronic vs cable) they stopped putting cables on that year. not sure why! fixing the problem ....um not so sure you can.

1. If your car starts out at 0 RPMS, you have a problem.
2. If your car idles at under 500 RPM, you have a problem.
3. What your describing sounds pretty normal to me. Mustangs I've droven really only have 3 speeds; slow, torquey, and *pause* take off.

That is just how the stock tune is. There is alot of throttle lag with the stock tune. A custom tune will almost completely eliminate the lag.

It wasn't just lag i know the feel of that. it was the valve in the throttle body but it's all good now.
