POS mustang

well, after trying that "on off X5" i decided to start chaseing wires. under the frind drivers fender betwean that and the plastic inner fender (that i cant remove without a stubby screwdriver or pulling the wheel) i found what looks like a coroded wire with white powder coming out of a little hole... ****ing great. the wire is just at the end of a VERY thick harness.

can be soldered easy enough.

then i get up for whatever reason and notice that i am leaving wetsandle foot prints on the ground... on pavement... i look and some how my flip flop/ foot rubed the boot ps systemand now its leaking ps fluid...

Why I love my 76 D100. if it breaks its usually an easy fix and has about 1000x less wireing then the newer crap.

for those interested, the mistress:

the stang

Sounds like the previous owner raped the hell out of your Mustang.
Mine has 88xxx miles and the only thing thats given me a problem was the fuel pump going out.
And I agree, theres nothing more ****ty than wiring problems...too many damn things to go wrong.[>:]

Well since your siren is'nt working, it may be the ONLY thing not working thats causing your 'Alarm Status' light to not function.
Not a big problem in my opinion, since the Mustangs use passive alarms, someone could break into/hit your car and the alarm wouldn't go off. It'll only go off if someone tries to start your car without the key.(as far as I'm aware). That Power Steering leak...that...well...is a big problem[&:]

The big thing with a few guys at my shacks was to sneek by, kick the tire, smack the window or do anything to set the alarm off...

About a year ago, check it out: https://mustangforums.com/m_3545348/tm.htmthe problem was a completley corroded wire... there was nothing left in the wire but a bulge of insulation and copper oxide dust... it was about a $200 fix with labour (helped alot with the time by telling the guy everything i had tracked down and a $90 tow job.

While home from that trip I blew a rad hoseabout10Km from the house on the highway...

This is now about 10,000 km since then.I havent driven the car more then 3 km from where I was living to where I am nowin the past 5 months because insurance is STUPID where i live. I was planing on parking the truck when gas hit 1.50L but now... gaaaaaaaaa
