i have a question...i want to get my car painted black....a.) what is a complete paint job going for these days and b.) do i have to do anything to the title or am i good?

 

a good color change is going to cost you prob about $4-5K. im sure you can get it done cheaper but it will look like crap. you get what you pay for. and i dont think that you have to change anything with the title because the vin hasnt changed.

 

i dont know about where you are from, but here in va the color of the car is listed on the regestration (spelling?) so I am going to guess that yea you have to let the dmv know.

 

just walk in tell them you painted it, sign a new regrestration card and your good to go. i dont know, but you may need to call and let the insurance people know too.

most paint job side jobs are done pretty cheap and done good, my shop wants $200 a pannel, but i do side jobs for like $300 for the whole car but the owner of the car has to supply the paint, oh and about the vin, you dont have to let anyone know about it, the color on the title is to let you know what color the car was stock.
