Default Popping Noise?

I had both my other tie rods replaced a few months ago and now I notice when i'm comming to a semi-hard/hard stop the car will emit a popping noise from the front. When turning the wheel and going up a drive way i hear a popping noise. It is when i am stepping on the brakes it happens. I went under the car and greased everything but it still does it.

Be a little more specific....is it while the brakes are applied...after it comes to a stop or when turning the wheel while braking. It could be either a ball joint although I wouldn't think a '98 would need ball joints. It could be a brake caliper as well.
