Any help please. My mustang is making a weird honking noise or sounds like a honking noise. I don't know exactly what it is but it sounds like its coming from the right side of the engine. Any help fixing this problem or any help locating what it is or where it is coming from. Thanks.

 

When does it make this problem? All the time?? When accelorating?

 

It has happend a couple of times on idle, but mostly while i'm driving. It's happend during acceloration, but also while just crusing. The weird thing is that it is not constant. I would hear a honk, thenabout 1 or 2minutes later another honk, then maybe15 minutes later another honk. It's not a constant honking. It just comes and go's. Any help please i would appreciate it a lot.

 

If it's more like a moaning sound,, I'm guessing a drive belt might be loose or going bad.. or a pulley bearing (like in the alternator) is dying on you.

Try checking the belts first
