I've got a question about the security alarm on my 2005 convertible. It's the standard alarm, nothing that I installed myself. The other day I was in the video store, I had the top up but the windows down, and the doors locked and alarm onand after about three minutes the alarm and horn started blaring. I was standing by the window in the store when it went off, no one was messing with it and I did not see anyone walk closely by that might have set it off. This has happened twice now, I was just wondering if it is supposed to do this or if it's malfunctioning. This does not happen when I leave the car with the top and windows down at the same time. If anyone has any input it would be much appreciated, thanks!

 

this may sound dumb but it could just be the panic button on the remote getting pressed while its in your pocket.... its happened to me.

 

+1, has happened to me since owning this car and my05 mustang.

 

lol i never thought about that, i will defintiely keep that in mind and pay closer attention if/when it happens again.
