Default Short throw shifters?

I know this topic has been beat to death but I need to ask one more time. I've got my search narrowed down to two choices. Steeda Tri Ax or the MGW. Which one do you have and why did you choose it. I have noone around with a mustang so I can't try one out to see which I like. I've read where the Steeda is noisy after install, and notchy? Whatever that is. If I bought a shifter from StangMOds and got a free gasket with the purchase would this make it quieter? And is the Steeda good for just a daily driver? MGW is more expensive but is it worth the extra $$ for a better and smoother shift. I don't race at all but I do want a shorter and smoother shift. All opinions are appreciated. Thanks... Jimmy

I know on S197's, the MGW is hands down the best shifter you can buy.

i love my mgw. its a nice short throw with crisp gear changes.

MGW is 179.99
its only a ten dollar difference so id go with MGW.
tri-ax is 169.99

Car short throw shifters help you reduce the long throw of your factory shifters. Car short throw shifters allow more close and precise shifts giving you the ability for quicker gear changing. Meaning faster power deliver in your car. Shifters are often overlooked but can be an easy and affordable way to improve your car for benefits on and off a track.

I can't speak for the mgw....but I have the tri-ax and although it's a lot better than factory it's still not very impressive in my book. mgw is suppose to be a shorter throw...so i'd go with that one.

Short throw shifters are overrated. I have 2. A B&M in my Mustang and a Hurst in my Ram.

Notchy complaints are soley from the decrease in leverage.

The positive stops is a great idea and will protect the transmission.
I also like the precision an aftermarket shifter offers but all you out there looking for ET from taking a couple inches out of your shifter throw are going to be disappointed.

The B&M combined with a stock length shifter handle is the best combo.

quicker gear changes result in quicker ETs.

just dont expect a substantial drop in ET after a short throw install.

It gives you the confidence to powershift 2nd to 3rd. Besides that most of us can shift a stocker just the same.

Do it for the precision and postive stops.

As for et. No **** quicker shifts = quicker et. Can't argue that.
Fact is you can do it quicker with a stock shifter too.
If you improve your et even by a tenth because of a shifter. You were doing it wrong before.

i didnt buy mine for quicker ETs. i broke the stock one from powershifting. besides the increase in confidence does help me out because missing a shift while powershifting is not good news.

short throws are beefier, not near as sloppy, and have the positive stops to prevent tranny damage.

btw...you seem to be very opinionated. just chill....
