My local TV station had this on last week. It was a black notchback coupe. It had big and littles on it. So the acceleration thing is do-able. The picture in the link is NOT the same car.

this was posted in the 5.0 section a couple of days ago.

we cant see under the hood of the car yet because he is waiting on a patent. i call bs.
Why do you think that makes it bs? When an independent person tries to get a patent it takes a long time and is costly. This is why people keep it a secret, the people that release their inventions the second they "start" to get a patent. Top auto manufacturers with billions of dollars can make the same thing and get the patent long before the person does. You do realize that the one person who can make the most efficient car will basically be the richest person(family) the next couple hundred of years...

Also, I don't think it ever stated anywhere that it makes 400hp, 500tq, and 110mpg AT THE SAME TIME! You can probably choose which you want to run and when.

Yea well that's why they should at LEAST show the "independent findings" and not necessarily the technology that did it.

I'd be freakin AMAZED if a Foxbody sized vehicle could get over 100mpg in an HONEST test, NOT while coasting down a big hill or drafting behind a tractor trailer, or some other stupid trick.

And yea perhaps there is some sort of adjustment that needs to be made andTHEN the thing is capable of +400 HP. Great, let's see the dyno chart..

THERE JUST ISN'T ANY SUBSTANTIATING EVIDENCE

I'm an optimist, but am also a common sense realist. This "Miracle Stang" is no more real to me than the thousands of so-called UFOs people claim to beseeing in the skies every day

I'd love it if it were true, but I'm 99% sure it's not.

If the "independent confirmation" was anything other than "Billy Joe-Bob's service station" (AKA his brother in law or something similar) then it wouldn't be "400hp and 110mpg" It would be something like "398.4 HP at 6300rpm, Highway mileage of 109.7mpg using EPA guidelines"

Saying "400HP" is like the guy who says that his '01 Mustang GT has "300HP, because I have a cat back and CAI and a chip and those add at least 40 HP!" In other words, absolute bull**** until proven otherwise.

A little while back Opel produced 2 race cars for the Le Mans series, with small turbo diesel engines and running for 24hrs around the track, the car got 113mpg. Yes, 113 miles per gallon, one hundred thirteen, in case you think my finger slipped twice. Thats traveling an average of ~120mph at close to WOT most of the time.

Obviously, being a race car it's not going to see that level of street performance, but the technology is there.

It sounds pretty outrageous, but people in the past have achieved what many considered impossible before. The article says the claims have been substantiated, but it will be interesting to see how he did it once he has tha patents and releases the information. Smokey Yunick did something similar in the 60's iirc with his patented Hot Vapor Engine. Wjether the auto makers will be willing to pay for the technology of ther patents remains to be seen.
Thinking about it that makes perfect sense. Remember what people thought about when people began talking about the internet, nukes, airplanes, fuel cell cars, cars in general...all these things were doubted by probably 99% of the people that heard about them in the beginning. But now look, you see them everyday in every setting and don't even take bat an eyelash.

Granted that truly is impressive technology. I have no doubt there are major technology strides still available to gas/diesel buring engines to noticably improve mileage & even power too. But, that incredibly streamlinedOpel"race car" weighs only1445lbs, almost HALF what a Foxbody weighs. And it barely holds 2 people and I'm sure the engine was performance tuned to make optimal power at peak RPM for the race.

So apparently, the guy who is being discussed here has surpassed thoseOpel carnumbers with a Foxbodyregular passenger car lol

if this guys statements are true and he could back up his statements with solid proof then it would probably be all over the news and id believe it.

he has NO proof to back up what he is claiming.
