Either a 245 or a 255 tire. Anything bigger won't fit that size rim.

i've got myself a bit of a dilema here. I have 18 inch cobra wheels (not positive, think they're 10 inches wide) ill measure tomorrow.

can I fit 275/35/18 on the back and 245/40/18 on the front?

furthermore, can someone explain what the numbers mean, i know the 18 is rim size..but what are the others for?

The 275 is the width of the tire, the 35 is the hight/how tall the tire is from the rim, and the 18 is of course the rim size. I am sure I am correct on this, just got new tires on my mustang and had to ask what they meant as well since I ordered the tires off line and ordered a different size than what was on my car to begin with.

Well, as an example for the 275/35/18 :

275 = width of tread in milimeters
35 = % of tire height compared to it's width. If the tread is 275mm then the rubber height would be about 96mm (35% of 275)
18 = yup the rim size in inches.

It's kinda stupid some measurement is metric and other is in imperial..

I have no idea if the tires you're talking about will fit your car/wheel...
