Question about dyno tunes and handheld tuners
So I was thinking about getting a dyno tune rather than use a tuner (for now). If I was to get a tuner down the road. Would I be able to successfully copy the dyno tune to the tuner? The dyno tune would be mostly a performance 89 or higher octane. I want to save my stock tune, along with a mpg tune for use for the future. Do dyno shops even provide you witha a backup of the stock tune if you don't have a tuner?
All the dyno shops I've ever talked to required you to buy a handheld tuner. The reason is that's how the car is tuned.I guess if a tuner had something like a Tweecer they could make up a tune to fit your car but it probably wouldn't work with a handheld.
If you buy a tuner get one with the capability to change timing and fuel from idle to WOT.I haven't looked for awhile so I don't know which ones have this ability.

My buddy used his tuner for his dyno tune. the tuner said he could have had a better tune with a chip forget the name of the chip he uses, but he also said there are multi tune chips. you can have up to 4 tunes on the 1 chip...
