Tire type and wear?
I just picked up a 1993 Cobra with only 16k original miles. I noticed the front Goodyear Eagles are down (illegal). The back set seem to have a some treat left. Apparently they were rotated. The front Eagles start with 'P225' and the back only with '225' - so whats the 'P' mean?
(I may be looking for 2 more slightly worn rather then buying a complete set.)
thx.

The P stands for passenger car tire. Got a pic of the cobra. Thats a nice find with only 16K miles. Cost a pretty penny I bet.

nope, the P stands for P-metric. It basicly means that a different way of calculating the load rating of the tire was used on the P225 than on the 225. You will notice that the one with the P has a slightly different load index than the one without the P. It's really not a problem as long as you have the same tires on the same axle (ie. both fronts are P225 and both rears are 225).
For the purpose of buying tires just go with whatever you can get, there really isn't any difference.
