Default 1995 Driver side Power Window Problem** UPDATED

Hello all,
I have a driver side power window that is acting up in my 95 vert. The past month or so, I would hit the down button and sometimes it would do nothing, but then I hit it again, then it would work. All of a sudden, I hit the down button and I got nothing. All other windows work with the driver controls. Power locks are fine, mirrors also. So, Im guess its a switch problem. When I hit the down button, I can hear a very quiet noise coming from the door, but get nothing (well, somtimes it will go down half way and stop).
Any ideas?

Any help on getting off the interior door panel? I dont want to start ripping it out before I get an idea on whats involved. Its a 95 gt vert with 52900 miles.

Thanks for any help here..

TJ

it actually sounds like the motor if all the other switches work. on the drivers switch panel, all 4 windows are on 1 switch. to take the panel off, the whole black panel with the switches and stuff in it just pops off. then you have to disconnect all the switches from that and take it off. there are 2 screws behind that panel that need to be removed. you also need to pop the cover off the mach tweeter and take the screw out of that and remove that speaker. there is a push plug on the far right edge, towards the bottom that you need to pull out. after you get all of this out, then you can just lift up the whole panel and it will pull off, there is one plug that you need to disconnect on the bottom left, that is behind the panel and then the rest of the panel will come off.

thanks for the quick reply. Im going to take off the panel and see if there is power going from the swith to the motor. If so, then I guess that would be it. Its just wierd how it would stop working. I have put MAYBE 500 miles on the car in the last 2 years. Maybe I just didnt use it enough or something. Thanks!

yeah, the switches and motors are very tempermental. i have had to replace both switch panels and 3 window motors. the only motor that i havent replaced was the one that has been acting up since i bought the car 6 years ago. if i roll it down past the moulding then it wont come back up without some help, but other than that it works great, go figure.

okay, so Im testing the driver side window switch and Im getting volts when I hit the up side of the switch. But, when I hit the down side, nothing (driver window swith only- the rest work fine). So, does this mean the downside of the switch is bad? If so, how do I replace this? If I have to replace the entire switch panel, how does it come apart? Sorry for all the questions, this is new to me....

Thanks!

it goes up just fine when it sporatically works going down. It just seems to work probably 50% of the time. Im 99.9999% sure its the switch now. Just not sure how to replace it without breaking it...

okay, updated again. I just took apart my driver cluster switch and scratched the contacts and put the miracle WD40 juice on it and BAM! It works great. Apparently I had some corrosion on it or something. It looked clean, but who knows, it works now!
