I'm new to this forum and have been impressed by all that I've seen. I recently purchased a used06 with 15K miles.It hasthe Pony Package, V6, Satin Silver, black leather, 5 speed. However, it came with the base instrument cluster, 4 guages, odometer / trip. I would like to upgrade to the 6 gauge with message center. I know there has been some discussion in this forum about this but my head is spinning with all the different info I'veread.I've heard that it can be done but you need to upload and download the info with a diagnostic tool. Not sure what this means. I've heard that it needs to be re-programmed by a dealer. I called my local Ford dealer and he said that if I wanted to spend thousands of dollars it could probably be done, but they wouldn't touch it. It seems like a very simple process but I just can't seem to get a straight answer and I don't want to start messing with something that can't be reversed.I already have the upgraded cluster and the buttons that I got from a friend who works at an auto yard. The wire harness for the 3-button pod is also there behind the blank pod. Can someone set me straight as to if and how this can be done? Thanks,
