Default Strut layout on 1995 GT

I recently bought a 1995 5.0, with167K. It is all pretty much stock, but theengine runs nice and for the most part seems to be well cared for. The ride and handlingneeds some work. I suspect the struts/shocks are factory originalsbut the ride is very stiff, so it may be that someone changed springs. Okay, my question is whether I would need a spring compressor to replace the front struts? On a scale of 1-10 how big a job would it be to install new shocks and struts? I consider myself an average mechanic, pretty much able to swap out parts. Thanks for any responses

swapping out the front struts is easy....with air tools.

you dont even need to touch the springs to change the struts.

Even if you dont have air tools it is a breeze the hardest partwhen i swapped mine was the nut on the top of the struts were impossible to get off, used sawzaw! install new struts and off you go, rear super easy!
no springs need to be thought about changing shocks and struts!
