Default Removing headlight lense

Hi. I have an '01 Bullit, and I've been racking my brain trying to figure out how to take off the headlight lense on this thing. The outside of them is nice and clean, but the inside is so nasty, it makes my lights look tinted. And not in a good way. Everytime I try searching, it comes back with zero results. And being on dial up, it literally takes about 5 minutes for each page to load, so I just gave up and decided to post. [&o]

I did find two torque head screws on the back, but that didn't seem to help. So, does anyone know any tricks to taking them off without tearing them up? Heard that on some cars youcan put the lights in the oven on a low temp, but I don't know about that...I also have some caulk to reseal them afterwords, if necessary. Any help would be fantastic.

you arent going to want to take the lens off. you will never get it to seal back properly and you will get condensation in them. i have never heard of the inside of them being dirty, are you sure its not just hazy on the outside? can you post a picture of your lights so we can tell? if its just the outside, you can wetsand that and buff it out and they will look like new. or you can buy a new set for a relatively decent price.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I did the whole wet sand thing, and it did help. But after it all dried and I polished them, you could clearly see the spots on the inside of the lense. And I sanded them several times....talk about a pain.[>:]So, by relatively cheap, what are we talkin'? Under 100 for the two?

if i remember correctly, i bought a set of the ultra clears for my 94 for about $110 shipped. the 94-98's have the 4 piece lights. i would imagine the 99-04's are about the same price.... wait, just checked ebay and a set of new smoked headlights is going for around $70+ shipping. so you are looking at a little less than 100 for the set, and they can be installed at home in less than an hour. and if you are weary of buying off of ebay because of quality, that is where i bought mine about 4 years ago and i have had no issues at all.
