just dont use interrior leather cleaner when u clean it, when it rains it will all just run off and make your car look like crap, all i do for my top is wash it with a cloth when its dirty, and if u do buy a new one dont by an aftermarket one they tend to bubble up during highway driving creating drag and it will wear faster

Default RE: Ragtop maintenance?

I have had a 95 stang gt vert since 2002. When i purchased the car, I put a new top on which, whoever says 1500+ is looking for a top laced w/ gold or something. I purhased my top off ebay for around 130.00 then, took it to my local upholstry shop and they installed it for 275.00. That is the first time the top was replaced in 10 years. Whoever had it before me left it in the sun ALL THE TIME! It had shrunk a little and caused it to be tight. Definately stick w/ the vert, i clean mine w/ simple soap and water, keep it garaged and out of the elements. In my opinion, the leather seats are much worse to take care of then the top. I hate my leather!! Oh, and i live in Iowa where humidity, heat and nice days can change from day to day. I dont drive it in the winter either, just becuase that is what beater cars are for. Top down, chrome spinnin'
