I want to paint my fender emblems, corral, and pony flat black. Is there any prep wor i should do or just grab the nearest can of flat black paint?

 

clean them off really good with rubbing alchohal and it the finish on the emblems is tarnished, sand them down a little. then paint them up

 

Sand them with some 600 before painting or itll just start to chip/flake off. The paint needs something to stick to.

 

I tried cleaning & sanding then spray painting the corral around my grill pony flat black.. applied several light layers of paint & waited for it to dry each time.

It looked pretty good for a while then the paint began flaking off & looked like crap. So I grabbed a Mach 1 grill delete kit from Americanmuscle.com & have been happy ever since
