I have a 1988 Mustang LX with the 2.3 and auto tranny. I am going to put a mild 302 in the car with a AOD tranny. Will the stock rearend hold up to a mild 302? What am I in for to put the AOD in this car? Any help would be appreciated. I am a newb here, so please be nice.

the 7.5 in the 4 bangers arent the strong. it will get you going but expect to break in the near future. i used my 7.5 for about 3 months after my 351w swap. then upgraded when i had the money to the 8.8. as far as the aod, not sure?????

Go with a 3.10s with your automatic

it holds out for the 2.3, but with the 302.. upgrade to the 8.8", you should get traction lok in there too
