Default some CB questions.

i have a couple of different ***** on my cb, and i was wondering if any of them would affect my ability to transmit a signal.

RF-radio frequency
SWR - has to do with the antenna
and the CAL- i cant figure out what that is..

anyone have any ideas?

Yes they do, Not sure which would need to be set to what. It's been a long time since I messed around with one. I think you want to set them all to a low setting and riase them up.

Umm no none of the controls on your CB affect your OUTPUT signal power. Unless it's a Single Sideband (SSB) model but that's a different story

Select Cal, key mike, set swr's to the lowest setting, release mike button, de-select cal. Try the transmitting again. SWR's (standing wave ratio) should be as low as possible and for sure not in the red area. You may want to use an external meter to set them proper.

Miss read his Qustion thought he ment recieve. You can get a power mic if you are looking for a stronger output signal, But from what I understand in some states I think they are ilegal cause if you are to close to someone you can kill there CB.

With SSB you have 3 sets of 40 channels, totalling 120 channels

Lower side band LSB, uppper sideband USB, & middle (I forget what it's called) There should be buttons to select which band you want to use.

Lower & upper sideband transmit with 12 watts, whereas the middle one only has 4
