Push Button Start
Hey guys, girls,
I've decided to put a push button start and toggle for the electrical. Does any one know what amps the system should be ran on? 15amps, 12amps, 10amps? I need to know asap, I'm off today!

I was going to post some of the wiring for you guys but I still can't post pics. But its alot easier than I thought after i got a copy of the original wiring diagram. I've spent more than acouple hours doing mine but I like my stuff perfect, color, size, everything has to look impeccable! I would say on '68s - '73s could install a push button in an hour and a half with the proper preperation. If anyone ask what I did about something I did with it, fell free to ask. The color coding on the wires will send you for a loop!
I found the wiring diagram in the Chilton Manual for that year of 'Stang. I did the wiring myself after I figured out what needed to be turned "on" first before I could have the button engage with the solenoid.... I'll post pics when the forum let's me.
Now that Iv'e got the wiring down from the steering column, I've found that someone else did a little wiring and the colors are all wrong, so my wiring diagram is more or less useless. I'll figure it out and write up a step by step and parts list... as soon as I know myself.
So far though:Three 15amp toggles
:One in-line fuse
:One toggle cover
:One 15amp push-button
:10g wire... the colors of the rainbow!
: box of 10g connectors
: box of screw 'hoop' wire ends ( to neatly attach wires to
toggles)
Add more when I know more.
