Default Dipstick Location, Roller or Non-Roller?

Trying to figure out if I have a roller motor here. My block has the hole for the dipstick on the driver's side like an HO 5.0 motor but I don't want to base it solely on that.

When did they start putting the dipstick through the block (not the pan) on the driver's side on the 302? I know it was for the Fox-Body, but not sure what year they started it or if it was all fox-bodies. For some reason I thought it was just the 86 and newer stangs that had this?

..My '65 came with a 302 already installed and it has the hole in the block, just curious if it could be a non-roller out of another application or maybe an earlier Fox-Body Mustang, or maybe even something else?

Also, I can't find the darn date code on the block. I was told it is above the starter?

Any other ways of knowing if it's a roller motor?

I don't want to get all excited and have it be a run of the mill POS out of a carboureted 70's or 80's car or truck if you know what I mean.

I looked everywhere on this thing and all I could find is the letter Z on the driver's under-side by the bellhousing flange.

the dipstick on my car 92gt does not go through a hole in the block. it goes directly behind the header bolt and down to the oil pan. take pic of the block and i'm sure someone will help you out on identifying the block.

turns out my block is a 1985 pn (E5xx) found under the starter. Not sure if the 85 was a roller but I'm thinking not. Any info is appreciated.

This is what I found out so far. Apparently all 1985 blocks were roller-ready but didn't always come with a roller camshaft installed.
