Default Bore it? Good Idea?

well ive got a good machine shop and ive got a 3.8 L V6 2002 mustang
and me and the guys were wondering if it would be worth it boreing out my engine?
i mean i really dont know if i should just upgrade to a V8 4.6 L or just keep my engine and
bore it out and get the heads port and pollished?

Don't bore it, stroke it to 4.2L. Much better idea.

Wha is your over all hp/tq goal? Answer that and we'll be able to tell you if a V8 swap is worth it. (Usually swap is a waste of $$.)

well i was hoping to get about 350 40 hp/ 417-430 tq.

Do the heads, get a cam, SC the thing and be done. Cheapest way to make that power level.

Boring is to rid of wear on cylinder walls. The difference in power adds up to pretty much nothing.

Cool cool,
i just got bout 6,000 saved up from working and i already have some small things on
my car and im just tierd of G-35,37's beating me by lengths and those P.O.S cars pulling up to
me and saying i have a piece of s*** even tho i beat em...
but yeah i just want true muscle im tierd of this small V6... ready to do
some heavy stuff on my car!

i would not pull it out to bore, but if you had the motor out for another reason, i would do it..
