odd smell from ac

I have an 04 mustang gt and if it sits for a day the ac will declop a moldy smell but after 10 to 15 mintes it usealy goes away I live in florida and wonder if the humidty has something to do with it any ideas to what is cuaseing it?

Sounds like a leak. Been raining where you are? Has here and I know if water is getting in there it will do that.

Did you buy your car brand new or slightly used? That smell is almost always from a smoker. I know because I smoke, but stopped in my cars due to that! Dont smoke in the Stang.

it hasnt rained here in a while and we bought it brand knew and we dont smoke but florida has realy high humidty

It sounds like mold in the system. Buy a mold retardant to help get rid of it. Also before you leave the car turn the AC off but keep the blower running to dry out the vents and prevent more mold.

thanks for the tip I will go to napa (only parts store thats seems to carry anything) tomorow and pick up a can
