Default Cracked Intake Manifold Need Help

so i just got my '97 GT back from the shop and it hadnt been started for a little while. So I started it and let it warm up and run normally but then i noticed the temp gauge was acting stange. when i looked under the hood the radiator hose was bulging between the radiator and the thermostat. as soon as i noticed this the intake manifold cracked in the back where there is and inlet for the radiator hose. my question is what happened and is it necessary for a whole new intake manifold or could i just glue it or something. My dad says the thermostat may have frozen shut
