Axle bent?

Axle bent?
Hey guys, is there any way and axle can bend without hitting anything underneathe the car? for example, can u bend an axle on a fast sharp turn?

I don't know about bending but they will move in the housing as the rear twist up. I have seen one even come out at a drag strip one time.

I am talking the axle tubes not the axles them self just to clarify
