Warning to all 94-98 owners
Well i believe i have found a flaw in fords design. I recently was cleaning my car very very thouroghly, i was in the trunk and i pulled off the "floor" covering, then i pulled off the drivers side panel in the trunk and then pulled off the passenger side, i noticed that the drivers side was clean as a whistle and the passenger side was dirty as all heck. i then looked closer at the passenger side where the gas filler is, and i noticed it came in from outside and a tube then went through the floor of the trunk into the gass tank, no big deal, then it turned out it was, where the tube goes through the trunk there is a rubber boot that keeps all of the water and salt and dirt, etc out of your car, well for some reason the tube on my car is pushed a little forward and now allows WATER and dirt and whatever else to come in, and when i peered closer i noticed that the water was collecting up against the outside of the body, so i cleaned that all out and now im praying that i dont get any rust there , so i would check that if i were you guys, i sure as heck dont wanna see any cars rusting up.

My 95' is picture perfect, but I did change the boot when I first got her too Its a $25 dollar investment that might be worth it to you. You can buy it at Kregan. For rubbers like that its just good to replace them every 5 or so years depending on where you live. Here in cali its more like every 7-8 years.
Its not fatal or anything, just gotta watch your car. If your really worried then clean the area well, take it down to bare metal and then treat it with POR-15 and seal it for life.
