Fox body question
I had an '86GT,, & never had a wheel fall off
5 lugs seems pretty standard, but nothing wrong with 4 I guess. One of my first cars ever was a European car, a Renault 17 Gordini. It was a 4 cylinder HEMI fuel injected (radically advanced for it's time), and 3 LUG WHEELS!!

4 lugs are all that was needed. Most of the fox cars made didn't make gobs of power. Even back then the "fast" V8 cars barely cracked what power the V6 cars are now in stock trim. If you don't need them, it saves money when you look at the numbers of cars being mass produced (most of which were 90 hp four cylinder cars). I have had half a dozen V8 fox bodies in my life... never had an issue with only 4 lug set ups.
I wonder that also why the heck did they screw the braking system up... small and 3 port mc for the aero 5.0 mustangs! Other foxes weren't all like this nor were they as fast.. the faster the worse brakes? wtf
but yeah the 4 lug thing even though screws with wheel options rarely are the cause of crashes/failure
