Default wire melted

hey all first post.. uhm my 95 gt had a faulty headlight switch.. i replaced it with switch from advance auto parts..
now little after six months later lights work but interiors and tails/parking go out.. so im like damn the switch is bad again.
so i took it apart and the wireharness for the switch has burnt wire and slightly melted harness .. the switch Does still work though( the contacts on the harness lost contact with switch from melting)

first switch went bad 1 year after i got the car.

im starting to think this is being cause by something else..
its wire b2 on the harness..

anyone have this happend before? and ideas?
only thing electrical done to the car is aftermarket alarm that came with it..

I had a similar prob. with my '88 GT after I installed new "blue" headlight bulbs. The bulbs were drawing too much elec and burning out the headlight switch.
Make sure your not running 'halogen' headlights...replace with standard bulbs

i have white lights and im not burning anything up, but what u want to do is make sure your fuse is the correct size if it isnt the fuse will not pop when its supposed to and too much power will run through your wiring
