Default temperature gauge

hey i jus put a new temperature gauge into my 89 lx 5.0. there was a large black wire taht i hooked up to where the oringinal temperature senseor was, then there is a red and black wire cuimin out of tha back hooked up to nothing. im guessin tha black ones is the groudn and the red is the power wire. what do i do to get it to work becuase i doesnt right now, its a aftermarket gage. parden im spelling im a lil drunk right now haha party on.

Go to your local auto parts store and get the manual![sm=icon_rtfm.gif] Chilton's or Haynes, doesn't matter which. They should have the wireing schematics to tell you! DON'T hook either one up til you're certain.[sm=gears.gif][sm=gears.gif][sm=icon_rock.gif]
