Did I do the right thing???
Well a while ago i addressed an issue on my 2005 Mustang GT that i have. The synchronizers failed again and i thought about doing a 6 speed swap. But due to low funding it wasnt happening. So the dealership took the car in (it has under 36k and still had warranties) and has had it for 40 days literally. They finally called me back after a field tech looked thru it and found a "chipped gear" so none of it was warrantied. The dealership then wrote me a bill for how much it would cost JUST to replace the Transmission and Clutch... $4900!!!! I said f*ck that. So a buddy of mine works at a tranny shop here locally and suggested some nice parts. SO he ended up getting me another T-3650 that is in excellent condition for $775.00 and then ordered aftermarket parts along with it. He ended up talking me into buying 2 things that ive never heard of which is a Zoom Stage 2 Clutch and a Steeda Tri-Ax Shifter? Dont know if those are good but i sure hope they are... Any ideas if this will work out any better?
PS: the final bill for the in town shop Parts and Labor was $1850.88

zoom makes a good clutch ive had them in a few mustangs and all short throw shifters r pretty much the same ne ways so as long as you payed a decent price for them then ya good idea that clutch should grab alot harder then the factory so you will launch much better
I hope you did follow-ups like weekly with your car if the dealership had it for so long.
Thats outrageous.. My dealer usually has my car in one day and out the same day for anything.
40 days?? They should have given you something...

I know, right. I would be pissed if my dealership had my car for more than a week, nevermind 40 days. The only way I would be fine with it is if they needed parts to finish the car.
