Default Adust Engine Timing?

How do u adjust engine timing on a 88 mustang. what should it be set to for a street/strip car? i wanna get down on it at the down on it at the track but still be a daily driver. Thanks

I'm assuming you know how to use a timing light...

1st you have to remove what's called a SPOUT connector. It's located right near the distributor. Unplug it. Now you can set the timing. Specs call for 10 degrees BTC. Some guys here claim they run as high as 16. Once you have the timing set, plug the SPOUT back in. Thing to watch for at WFO is pinging. If you have pinging at WFO, then back the timing off.
