Gawd the V6-or-V8 arguments never get resolved.. and it's just about as much fun (boring?) to hear them as the manual-or-auto arguments.. You guys KNOW that you can't "argue" someone else into changing their minds, don't you?

YOU'RE BOTH RIGHT get over it

Yea obviously a V6 is gonna be weaker than a GT. But it'll also be cheaper to buy and probably cheaper to insure as well if you are a young driver. Will other guys rib you for driving a 6'er? Yep some will, can you handle it? And, V6 purchase price might be lower than a GT but so will it's resale value so, it isn't a free lunch.

Question

There is no point in arguing, this a common sense debate with a common sense answer... the real question is... do you have common sense?

That 99% of V8 owners who rip on the V6 have never owned one - therefor should shut their mouths about things they don't have experience with.

I agree with this guy...

Plus you know when V8 guys run out of logical arguements, they resort to "you have a V6, you lose"

Not everyone wants a not-fast 2v for a daily. But god forbid they want a V6 for being good looking and semi-sporty! the reason these cars exist! heavon forbid

count me in the 1% then. dont judge me because i have a different opinion than you.

riden and driven my buddies 99 v6 plenty of times. ive witnessed the disappointment in his eyes everytime someone asks him if its a v8 and he has to tell them no. its impossible to argue against the fact that most people buy v6 mustangs for a DD. if the OP is just looking for a DD then IMO he would be better off avoiding the cheap, noisy interior of a mustang. for the same price or cheaper he could get a similar car with more creature comforts. he will thank me later.

I'm gunna agree on the majority on this one. If you can spend the cash on a GT it's worth it. You can dress a v6 up all you want, but it'll never sound like a V8.

It's worth it if you can spend the cash on a GT. A V6 can never really sound like a V8.

Who cares about sound when you have an eaton or a turbo and blow off valve ?
I mean a v6 is only a turbo kit , cam, and tune away from beating a cobra...

You can have a lot of fun with a sleeper v6
Of course it didnt start out that way, but I didn't want another V8 at the time, and couldn't find a manual tranny at the time with the color/interior options we were looking at.
FWIW, I have no complaints about the automatic, and really prefer it at the track....as I'm passing up GTs

When I do buy another non-classic Mustang, it will most likely have a V8 though, but antoher V6 but with a turbo isn't out of the question.

Just get one, whatever it is; it's a Mustang!!! Enjoy it, modify it to suit your tastes (or not), and partake in these opinionated discussions.

V6 or V8, auto or manual, etc...when we get together for events or cruises, it doesn't matter. We all have a good time
