Default Test Drove V6

So I have recently test driven a two V6 mustang #1.2005 4.0l V6, #2. 2004 3.9l (40th anniversary. I have to say while i was driving the 3.9 i was very disappointed i didn't really feel the pick up i hoped for, however with the 4.0 it had nice pick-up and i was pleasantly surprised. my question is this; is the V6 even worth it or should i just get a GT?

get the GT, I drove a 4.0 V6 as a rental car and it was nice but I now have a 03 GT and it is much quicker.

Yea I rented a V6 vert.. liked it so much I bought a GT Vert

..at LEAST make sure the 6'r has a standard tranny! And,, NO you can't come back in 6 months asking how easy is a V6-V8 swap.

Depends on your style. Are you looking for a fun car to drive or a car to modify? What's the budget? Which do you like the looks of more.

I would go with the GT.

However, for the same price you can make the sixxer about the same speed and have some appearance mods....it's all on what you think you want in the car.

A intake + custom tune + exhaust are a good start with for under 1200 or so...

But then you need to dump a lot more into it to make it run reliably above GT power levels. If you plan on modding or if you can afford it, get a GT, if you would be stretching your financial situation, the 4.0 V6 is still a good engine.

Like everyone said, If you have the money, get the GT. Personally I couldn't get a GT because I'm 16 and my insurance on a V6 is out the roof, Luckily no tickets or wrecks yet *Knocks on wood*. But either way, cant go wrong with a mustang =). I have a 2003 V6, 5 speed. If I had to choose between v6 5 speed or gt auto, I'd get the V6. I also like the v6 because Im not going to need that much power, and I got a really nice v6, with leather and everything for the price of a cheaper GT. Its really up to your money allowance, how much power you want, and how much you drive, I know a GT only gets a few MPG worse than the v6, but over time that adds up.

Thanks for the advice, budget permits a less than costly GT or a decent V6, Pretty much anything beats out my focus car, i never believed i could hate a car that much, but then i bought the focus
