Default 5.8L stroker

I am decided to do a 5.8L stroker. I plan on using it for my daily driver and taking it to the drag strip on the weekend sometimes. I was wondering would a 393 or 408 be more dependable. Also, I have to do emissions. I plan on putting edelbrock performer heads with 2.02/1.60 valves with performer intake. Will i pass emissions?

i am not putting it in my 2002 ranger, i am planning on buying a 1994-1997 ranger to put it in. Cause i have found where bronco graveyard makes a wiring harness and just need to know if it would pass emissons, before i start it.

do you plan on using a carb or fuel injection?

there is a 351 subsection within the 5.0 tech section. might want to check it out.

pretty sure 10 years is the rule for a different motor swap... of course you can get around that, but not if you went with something carb'd
