Help 02 GT I have a strange noise not sure what it is but worried i am. The noise sounds almost like a rubbing/grinding type of sound hard to describe it but you cant really hear it untill about 25 mph and up it does get louder at freeway speeds ,its there with or with out the clutch engaged ,giving it gas or no gas,it drives fine doesnt pull either way no vibration but when you turn the wheel to the left the sound stops ,I am thinking its my Rack ??Is there a way for me to check it ??? Any input will be greatly apreciated Thanks for your time and help .

 

It is your bearings or pinions that are dirty/ need replaced.

Just get the car in the air look under there for dirt, then powerwash what is dirty.

Careful not to hit it with too much pressure though. Only spray what's dirty.

 

Well I can say you have given me hope, I am going to give it a spray off now with any luck it will fix the problem . Thanks for the suggestion I will post my results soon.
