Default 93 GT tranny/Gas tank

Hello all,

Just bought this thing on autotrader after taking a 5 yr break from mustangs.

The engine was advertised as a rebuilt engine (i believe it) and rebuilt transmission (im starting to have my doubts).

When going in reverse, the clutch is catching...i dont know what the exact phrase is, but its meeting resistance, working through the resistance (you can feel the flutter) and then going into gear. Isnt that a sign of a transmission on its last legs? Does this mean i was "had"?

Also, when I fill the gas tank up all the way, it promptly spills back out a gallon underneath the car. its like a waterfall , or a heavy trickle at least. I guess I have to replace the entire gas tank. Is that an expensive repair?

thanks in advance for all the guidance.
