I have 4 cats and I think all V8's came with headers and an H-pipe and dual exhaust except for 1985....that wasn't a true dual.

thanks for clearing that up but now I have another question

I see all these threads on this site about getting a x or h pipe, why would you want one if they already have one? are the h/xpipes they are looking at better? or flow better? bigger?

thanks again

yes they do flow better and are suppose to increase hp also you can buy x/h pipes without cats. The type of pipe also effects the sound of the car catless pipes make it sound louder , most people go with the offroad catless h pipe for the "muscle car sound".

your were correct with your first post and they change the h pipe to a off road h pipe that doesnt have any cats and the diameter of the pipe is 2.5 in compared to the stock 2.25 inches
