The other day i was driving my 69 mustang and it died on me. So i got out and found out the positive cable popped off. You can tell it hit some thing and arched you can see it on the batt post. I tried starting the car it popped a few times. I let it sit for a while and tried again. Then i wasnt getting a reading on my tach usually it jumps to 200 rpms or so when the engine is cranking. I am getting power to the coil but i am not getting any spark. I even tried a different coil and i got the same results.
