Hey guys, ever since the winter has passed my GT has been acting really weird. It's an 2002 5Spd. Everytime I start it up in the morning, and I rev it a litte, there's a pause between me pushing the pedal and the revs actually going, and than it back fires. Every time it rains, the engine will rev it self to anywhere to 1200 to 2000 and just sit there for 3 to 5 seconds, and than drop to 500, and it'll keep doing that until the sun comes out. Also, everytime I put the AC on, the car has the same symptoms.

Any idea's?

 

When was the last tune up? and how many miles on the car?

 

It just broke 50,000 miles this past week. I changed the plugs a few thousand miles ago but that did nothing to help the problem. I also noticed today when I was driving it, it makes a knocking sound when I come to a stop sometimes.
