hi after getting a custom tune for my 1996 gt convertible, i noticed a ticking noise by where the engine meets the tranny, when im driving and the rpm is around 2400 it gets really loud, when i take out the custom tune and load the stock tune back the noise goes away, anyone knows where that noise is coming from, is it the timing??? thanks

 

Not sure, I would take it back to where you got it tuned and see if they can't diagnose it, since it is the tune that is causing the noise.

 

A ticking near the bellhousing, reminds me of exhaust leak. But you said it goes away with the tune?? If it is in fact a timing issue it sounds like it doesn't have enough, cause at higher RPMs combustion is initiated too late and it's detonating. what about after 2400?
