Arrow Interesting light signal

So I saw a rear light signal that I was wondering if anyone knew how this person did it or where to get it. His light was segmented to 3 groups, say they were turning left, the far right segment would light & stay on, then middle & stay on, and lastly the far left, and repeat. Same for the right signal just starting from the far left. Basically the light would point/build up to the direction the car was signaling to go. So, any ideas what this is? It would be really cool to have that on my car, I was running late, so I couldn't ask the man during a red light.
