on my way to work this morning, my car nearly overheated, i checked the antifreeze and it is good, i have a 185 thermostat and my water pump and radiator and thermo are all less then two years old, i have a 89 5.0 ho. does anyone have any idea why my car would overheat on the interstate and then at idle coming on to the base it dropped back down to normal, after going through the gate and coming to the hanger the temp got high again so i let it idle for a minute in the parking lot and the temp went back to normal? i can't figure it out, help me please it's never done this before and it's a got high miles.

when was the last time you had the cooling system flushed

 

replaced the radiator, water pump, temp sen, hoses all less then two years ago, flushed my system in dec it didn't need it but did it anyway.

 

the thermostat is less then 8 months old as well. so everything is new,

 

get some flush from NAPA in the blue plastic bottle it looks like TIDE..then let me know as you might have a HG going
