I came accross a 1999 Ford Mustang GT 35th Anniversary Edition, it has 169,000 miles on it and might need a new clutch soon. I don't know much about cars, I really like it but I don't know if it's worth it. Body wise it looks good, you could tell that a new headlight was recently added and has a little ding on the same side, everything else looks solid. I know I could negotiate the price, but I feel that being a female the seller might take advantage of my lack of knowledge. What will be the problems that I might encounter? What price would seem ok for me to pay?

i was able to negotiate to 3400.00. Took it for a test drive today, and the gear stick sort or sticks on 1st and second gear. A friend told me that this could be a sign of maybe the transmission going out. Its at a dealership, and the salesperson said that it's the clutch that needs to be replaced.
