Question Idle problems on a built 5.0

I recently bought a 95 mustang from a freind of my moms and it has an idle problem and was wondering if someone could help me.When you start the car the rpms go up and down 200-300 and tries to die when you put it in gear and also dies when you come to a stop. It was originaly a 6cyl car but was was converted to a fuel injected 5.0.It has had many modifications done to it such as a intake from a cobra mustang, cold air intake, headers, roller rockers, aluminum heads, bigger injectors, bored out and many other things. The guys says it makes around 450-500 hp.I don't know what i exactly in the motor like injector size, the bore, valve lift.I was told i needed a stall converter but Im just 18 and dont know.Any help would be appreciated
