Default A/C Problem!

Hey, I'm in Florida, been riding a month without A/C, it sucks! I have a friend that is very smart about cars, he doesn't have much time because he works 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. He had me come in one day and he checked it for me. The freon levels are fine, we checked the fuses & relays and they all work, it blows air, just not cold air and the compressor doesn't kick on. He checked the electrical line that goes into the compressor, and it doesn't have any power going to it, while the A/C is on full blast. He tried to turn the compressor, and it wouldn't, it was locked up. We went over everything that could be wrong, he told me he would ask the master tech in the morning to be sure it was the Compressor or clutch pack. The master tech said it was either a clutch pack, or the compressor. He said if i buy the compressor + a liquid line, he will do it for a pack a beer or $20.

So, if anyone can put some input on this, what they think?

Yeah, hes a cool guy. He did my brakes all around and cross patterned my rotors for $20.

OT- Any thoughts on it being something else? Or do you think it is the compressor/clutch pack?

I guess I'll buy the clutch then, and see if it works out. He said he will recharge the the system for me for free, so once I get this done. I will see if it works.
