2011 Mustang V6
I own a 2010 V6 with an automatic transmission. It beautiful Kona Blue, and I truly enjoy all there is to love about it, I backed out of my decision to get the stick at the last minute since it was a gift and my dad was willing to pay for the auto.
I've never actually driven a manual, but have practiced in make-believe and a besides, I am unable to drive for 7 months due to too many points (the bad kind) with the Secretary of State's office, but that's why I'm thinking in terms of what I could do with the 2011 with a stick and what I should do with the equipment I have not yet installed in my 2010 Mustang with automatic.
Pypes axleback muffler - Pypes 409 Stainless Steel Street-Pro Axle-Back with Polished 304 Tip- $140

so your wanting to sell/trade in your '10 v06 for an '11 v6 because you want an manual trans?... Dont bother, wait till you have the money to swap a v8 in there. You will lose your butt trying to do this... but there should be no difference between the 10 & 11.

I have 210 hp with a good automatic tranny, same one mated to the GT V8 engine, which is rated at 300 rwhp, which is about how much it's designed to handle.
The new V6 is an S197 so it's compatible, and it will push 315 PONIES! It may have a 5 speed while the Coyote 5.0 in the 2011 GT is paired with a 6 speed gearbox, but since I'm a beginner that works neatly. Base price will incur a slight price bump, but since I can't afford a 2010 or 2011 V8 Mustang with no available options at this time in my life, it'll be perfect, and I can beat Camaros and pre-2011 stock GTs.

It is rumored that the 2011s will get 6 speed gear boxes across the board, making the V6 2010 5 speed more inferior vs. the 2010 GT with a sportier 5 speed. The Tremec TR-3650, which a 7.5 cannot handle hence why manual sixers get T-5s, comes with a stock engine pumping not much more than 273 hp and 249 lb ft of torque... HP rivaling stock GTs. Automatics with Ford's one size fits all automatic 5R55S 5-speed transmission will become obsolete as the 2014 Ecoboost will probably have a 6 speed auto/manual.
I'm most curious about the rear axle... Whether it will get a bump to 8.8 across the board or not. If the 2011 gets 273 hp because Ford really can't back up their "controlled" info leaks, I think , would rev higher and get in the power band faster. It probably has slightly taller gears, too. Maybe 3.23s instead of 3.08s.

Hahahahaha - Are you serious!? The poor kid didn't even mention wanting a V8, and yet you tell him to swap one in. This forum's members never stop amazing me with the posts they make.

Greystang, you can't rent manuals anywhere around my town, or most any rental place unless you are friends with the owner and/or for some reason they have a stick on their lot. I'm a little intimidated about the process of teaching myself to launch it, though. Since I don't want to grind up the transmission on my Stang, I plan on buying a cheap, used 5-speed.
After I teach my lady how to drive it, I'll have to wait be able to practice and I can't learn more for a while thanks to the fact that I have received approximately three moving violations each month for 3-4 months. I have to be very careful since the cops got lasers.
If my relationship with Ford Credit pans out according to plan, and the few months once I can drive legally again, before the 2011 beast is unleashed go OK, I'll be prepared for my purchase of what I'm now hoping will be the 400/400 Coyote with a six speed standard trans.
