When it comes to numbers, I never trust them all that much. There are too many deciding factors. Things like shift, holeshot, tires all have to come into play. I can run my stang and be different everytime and all things constant.....but I'll take your word for it because I havent tried this myself. I do have the k&N by the way........was this done at the track in dyno in a garage?

Well, you're right about the variables that might interfere--but if you do
two runs within minutes of each other, run an automatic, and change nothing
about the runs except the filter, the difference can't be that dramatic.

And if your K&N filter fit in the wheel well then there are only two explanations: Either your car's hole between the engine bay and wheel well is much bigger than mine, or your filter is not much bigger than the blue one in the pics, K&N or not. My offer still stands. ;-)

that filter will fit in the wheel well though as long as it is not much longer than the blue filter and it clamps onto the cai pipe, it will fit in the wheel well b/c there is a ton of room in there. i see the rate of air coming in is much greater with the k&n filter which is what has convinced me to remove my ram air setup and purchase the k&n. thanks for the numbers man

My pleasure--as for the fit--I guess your car's hole between the wheel well and engine bay is a lot bigger than mine. Sure there is space for the filter IN the wheel well, but not to get it through that hole in the engine bay---maybe if you did it from UNDER the car....hmmm...dunno about that.

oh yea, thats how i did it for the ram air setup lol. i couldnt plumb from inside the engine compartment to the foglight. i had to go from under the car and on the inside- just move a little rubber flap out of the way and you have a ton of access. you cant get a much wider filter through that hole in the engine compartment to the fenderwell so i understand what you mean now.

No wonder you couldnt get it in you HAVE to do it from underneath there is no other way.I couldnt understand how it wouldnt fit but now it all makes sence. You couldnt squish it up and sqeeze it thru that 3 inch hole????
