hello everyone my name is wendell and i have a question i just bought a 65 mustang and it came out with a 289, my question is i want to put a six cylinder in it what all would i look at having to change to make this work?. I have been told all of the steering components would have to be changed is this true? i apologize if this is not the correct forum, this is my first post. thanks, wendell.
Wendell your going the wrong way. we don't put 6 cylinders in our V8 cars. I'm sure you have your reasons but I would put a late model 302 in that classic or rebuild the 289.
V8 turned into a V6. Never heard of this before. You'll need to change too much stuff to list. Just rebuild the 289, they're really easy to find parts for.
