Default Wheels vs Salt

Unfortunately I will be driving my 2008 mustang in the winter. I want to get different wheels but am not sure which wheels handle salt better. I am obviously going to have to be more diligent in washing my car. I read that chrome really takes a beating. Is salt just plain bad for everything? I will get some eventually just looking for some input.

My suggestion is to just use the stock wheels in the winter and the nice ones in the summer, it gets tough to keep winter wheels looking good.

I have to drive my Stang all year'round too.. & we get HEAVY winters here.

Get a set of basic stamped steel wheels & stick SNOW tires on them. Leave you good rims & summer tires in the garage. To make it look a bit better I grabbed a cheap set of hubcaps from Wally mart to cover the steel snow rims

+1 And you could get the beauty rings instead of hupcaps

Stamped steel wheels is the answer. They look like *** but will not leak even after major corrosion. Aluminum wheels and salt will rot at the bead and you will lose air.
